My Life as a Cattle Rancher, Mother and Wife

Being a cattle rancher’s wife means wearing many hats. I’m not just a stay-at-home mom, but also a homeschool teacher, bookkeeper, and ranch hand. It can be challenging at times to juggle all these responsibilities, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to see how much we can accomplish as a family, and grow together. Our lifestyle values hard work, family, and faith in God. We live a traditional lifestyle, raising our children with a strong sense of honesty, responsibility, kindness, and humbleness. Our children play outside with their hands, getting dirty, exploring, and building things. They don’t spend their days glued to video games or screens. Instead, we eat dinner together as a family every night at the dinner table, without the use of electronics. We are very busy during the day and often don’t get the chance to spend time as a family until we are gathered around the table. Our family’s faith in God is an important part of our lives. We teach our children right from wrong and strive to instill in them a sense of purpose and direction. They care for and love the animals here on our ranch, and they learn the importance of hard work and dedication. They also have the freedom to play in the wide-open spaces around us, where they are exploring the world and their own creativity. Our lifestyle is not without its challenges, however. We are at the mercy of the weather, as well as fluctuations in cattle prices, feed prices, and fuel prices. But despite these obstacles, we are deeply committed to what we do. We value our land, our cattle, and the role we play in feeding people. We strive to raise quality beef and pass on this way of life to the next generation. By sharing a little bit of my story, I hope to encourage other moms to find fulfillment in their own lives, no matter what their circumstances may be. Whether you’re a working mom, a stay-at-home mom, or something in between, there’s value in dedicating yourself to your family. By living with purpose and intention, we can create a fulfilling and rewarding life for ourselves and those around us.
